Basic Navigation (finding
your way around) using the
Back Button.
This web site has many
hyperlinks that enable you quickly to see the things that interest you.
You can see that it is a hyperlink
because it is in
blue text
and the pointer
ñ changes to a
pointing hand
G
as it moves over. Hyperlinks are also in a
whose text changes from white to black as the pointer moves over.
(In
addition, with Microsoft Internet Explorer, hyperlinks may become
underlined
as your pointer passes over and you have
not visited the link before, and briefly green
while they are actively being found and retrieved.)
If you click
on a hyperlink, you will go immediately to that subject. Clicking on the
Back button will return you back to the place you came from—see
examples of back buttons on the right. Similarly a forward button will
move you forwards again. There are often other
ways you can get back to where you came from. On your keyboard, pressing
Alt+Left Arrow will move you back, Alt+Right Arrow will move you
forwards again. At the top left of some keyboards you may have a back
key and a forwards key. Sometimes your mouse will have a back button on
its left side. If you go from one hyperlink to a
second, click the Back button twice to return. |
